I had a great experience learning to drive with Ryan. I’m from Ukraine and at first I was worried because my English isn’t perfect, but communication was never a problem.
Ryan is very patient and explains everything clearly, which helped me feel confident while driving. I had around 25 lessons with him and passed my driving test with only 2 minor mistakes. I would definitely recommend Ryan to anyone looking for a great driving instructor.

Ryan is an absolutely fantastic driving instructor! Highly recommend him! When I first started lessons, I felt really anxious and lacked confidence behind the wheel, felt I'd never be able to do it but Ryan completely changed that. Thanks to his patience, clear guidance, and encouragement, I was able to pass my test first time with just three minors in about six months. Ryan is calm, supportive, and has the perfect demeanour for a driving instructor. He explains everything clearly, builds your confidence and always makes you feel comfortable during lessons. My driving instructor Ryan Cottee was absolutely brilliant! As a first time and older learner I was simply terrified of driving! However, Ryan always had a very patient and calm approach and was able to explain seemingly complex manouvres with easy-to-follow and clear instructions. Importantly he was also able to offer lessons at flexible times in keeping with my work hours. He always provided feedback in a constructive and non-judgemental manner, which greatly helped with my confidence and I was able to pass my test in the first attempt!- Hira, September 2025

Our son had been at Uni, and only just recently passed his theory test, so when he managed to get a early practical test booked, we were lucky enough to book Ryan from the Jody Thomas Driving school. From the moment we met him, we knew our son was in safe hands. Ryan has such a great way about him, making you feel you are making progress with each lesson and helping you to get to the level you need to be at, to be confident enough to take the test. Our son passed first time, with the examiner commenting that it was a near perfect test. This is all thanks to Ryan and his dedication to his teaching skills and his students.
